Caprock Canyon Sealed Bid Bison Surplus Auction
The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) is seeking bids to purchase 8 surplus bison located at the Caprock Canyon State Park located in Quitaque, Texas.
Submission Deadline: All bids shall be received and time stamped at TPWD prior to 2:00 PM Central Time on the “Bid Opening” date, November 1st. Late bids will not be considered under any circumstance and will be returned.
Bidders shall enter price for the entire lot of bison, with no less than the $20,000 reserve amount being met. Parties responding must agree to and comply with all specifications, laws rules and regulations contained herein.
There are a total of eight (8), three 3 year old males, one of which is a slaughter bull, subject to this sale. All bison are located at Caprock Canyon State Park, three (3) miles north of Quitaque, Texas on FM 1065.
The bulls average weight is 1200 pounds and are direct descendants of bison from Charles and Mary Ann Goodnight;
All animals have been vaccinated and are tagged with an electronic identification device;
Transportation is the sole responsibility of the buyer;
Any out of state transportation regulations will be the responsibility of the buyer;
Animals must be picked up within 30 days of notice of award;
Arrangements for pickup must be scheduled in advance with the Park Superintendent, Donald Beard.
